That’s a great question. How can people deny the existence of psychics? Well, it’s easy.
The fact that police and government use the services of psychics does not prove that psychics are real. In order to prove that, you can’t rely on hearsay or anecdotal evidence. Even when psychics appear to get it right, the details are extremely sketchy. Not once has a “psychic” provided the exact information about a crime as if they were playing back a film (for example, names, dates, exact time of day, etc) which is exactly what a bona fide psychic should be able to do.
As for psychic predictions, there will always be stunning coincidences. Even I would get a few right if I made enough attempts. In order to prove psychics were real you would need to do controlled scientific experiments. And many such experiments have done and still there is no scientific evidence that any paranormal phenomena, including psychics, exist.
If psychics were real, they could control the world by predicting the outcomes of horse races and other sports events, the stock market, elections, and so forth.
