You are being too kind calling it a junk science.
    It’s superstition and nothing more.
Nothing anywhere close to good concrete evidence has been presented to back it up. Anecdotes and mystic double talk are not good evidence. No one has ever seen a peer reviewed scientific journal that endorses Astrology.
And it can be debunked so easily.
Takes two twins one dies at birth one goes on to become the King of Rock and Roll. The same stars where influencing both children at the time they were born. Why did they have such dramatically different fates?
    Good luck with your paper.

I would call it junk religion.

There are astrologers who claim scientific basis. For example, when Pluto was discovered, this guy brought out newspaper reports of people born at certain times – of course all these newspaper reports were disasters – and concluded that Pluto has an evil influence.

    You might start with Wikipedia.

    Good luck.
