Hi Gary, this question applies to the Mel-KII hybrid: What is the axis of detection of the magnetic field, perpendicular to the face of the meter, or along the length of the meter? I doubt this is a three axis meter, but I’d love to be wrong!

WOW a Mel Meter and a K2 meter all in one!! I am super impressed. I had Paranorbill send me a Mel Meter 8704-Vibe and I reviewed it and was super impressed with it. The article I wrote in the Examiner has done well. I can’t wait to see this in production.

The Mel-8704R will become the “standard” Mel platform in the future, including for the Mel-KII-Hybrid which will include:
* Custom Red Night Vision Safe Backlight
* Custom Red Night Vision Safe Flashlight with new software integrated Power button.
* Integrated KII with mini T1 LED’s
* Digital EMF
* Digital Temperature with standard “K” probe
Price will be $159-$169, Release date is scheduled for mid June.
Just had to add one more thought. How about taking the Mel-8704R Pronavigator with it’s red night vision compliant screen and adding the KII inside like you have done here? Now that would be too much? Now that would be something.
This looks nice as you can now carry less devices and is a great convenience. Excellent idea and I will be purchasing if available. Does it have the infrared flashlight at the top. That would make it complete.
