Psychics?

psychics
tayala. asked:

I was wondering, has it been scientifically proven that psychics are geniune as are their powers?
Or are they as fake as Pam Anderson’s boobs?

Please, don’t come to me with you b.s. saying that you are psychic, I just want the facts.

No psychics have ever proved conclusively that they have any powers that the ordinary person does not possess. A great many of them have been shown to make predictions which do not come true. People who have a tendency to believe in such things will always clutch at any small thing to try to prove that it works. Try reading some of the articles from this site – they are scientists, magicians and such like who check up on psychics, mediums and tales of the paranormal and approach the subject from knowledge rather than faith.

I’ve had three “psychic” experiences in my long life. They were all very weird, unannounced, and competely verifiable by other witnesses. I do believe that on occasion, something happens to people that allows them to peek into the future. I do not believe for a second, that anyone can claim to summon this at will. If they could, they’d be in Vegas with a large stack of chips in front of them.

    Hello Taylor

Psychics do not have powers, they have abilities. These psychic abilities are within us all, stronger in some than in others. & even in those whom they are present they have to be developed to be of any real value.

Scientific proof of spiritual phenomena is a tricky things as it is a matter of faith & personal truth & that can’t be measured.

It’s based upon faith, just like your belief (or not) in your religion or spirituality.
Personally, I had always thought that psychics were either the ‘truly real’ people who are able to find missing children by helping police…or they were total “hacks” trying to earn an undeserved $3.99/minute for doling out generic love advice on the phone.
Well, a few months ago, I was just tormented by my feelings for this guy at work, and asking all of the Y.A. folks didn’t do it for me, nor did my friends.
So, I bit the bullet and called a few psychics to ask them. (What the harm, right?)
Frankly, I went into it thinking it was for sheer entertainment and they would tell me that “he secretly loved me and we’d be together forever” or something pathetically supportive like that.
Well, a couple were pretty vague, but i called this gal and just said my first name….I didn’t have to give my b-day, or anything, and she started mumbling to herself and then OMG it was like she was reading a book about my life in the last few months. Not generic either. Specific people, events, days etc. Freakin’ amazing. I almost peed my pants.
I asked if I could talk about my family…and immediately she picked up on my mother’s surgery and what was going on…my dad’s specific injury (that I DIDN”T even know about yet) and to warn my best friend that she was going to be financially taken advantage of that week by someone very close to her (which I came to find out that her brother was seeping money from their joint account to be used for a shared property). You can chalk all this up to coincidence, but it goes on and on with accuracy.
It was amazing. It convinced me that, like other professionals, there are those who are good at what they do, and those who are not. Psychics are no different, some try to fake it and make a bad name for the good ones.
I’ve called her, and some others back since, and frankly, I like it. It seems to provide this amazing insight into my life, and I feel more aware of things. Whether you appreciate that or not is up to you.
If you get a bad one though, it may sour your opinion and you may not try again…but I have to say, if you have the guts, do it and see for yourself. At this point, I would recommend Coral Ann or Tobias the Seer from Keen.. Both were spot on and interesting to talk to…but you shouldn’t try to test them. Be open minded, and have paper/pen with you to take notes, as they talk fast and you will want to read info later. good luck.
