Question by Apollo: Christians: what is the significance of “fulfilled prophecies”?
We can both agree that the New Testament was written AFTER the Old Testament, correct? So, don’t you think that the writers of the NT read the OT and made the prophecies fit?

I don’t think they were talking about the NT fulfilling the prophecies.But if they are,they must be insane trying to prove a book using another book written by the same religion.

The Septuagint (or “LXX”) is the Greek translation of the Old Testament Scriptures that came into existence about 200 to 250 years before Jesus was born (i.e. before any Christians existed).
The Jews made use of it long before the Christian Era, and in the time of Christ it was recognized as a legitimate text, and was employed in Palestine even by the rabbis.

The Apostles utilized it and borrowed Old Testament citations from it, especially in regard to the prophecies.
