How can we calculate the planets position depending upon date , time and latitude and longitude? what is the formula behind it?

there is nothing even remotely scientifc behind astrology

  • José Frink:

    Smoke, mirrors, and unadulterated bullshit.

  • lucaswharm:

E=MC squared divided by the hypotenuse of Infinity!!!

  • map:

In terms of finding what “planet” where:ephemeries

    Astronomy is a real science.

Astrology is pure hogwash invented to cheat people out of their hard earned money by telling them something they want to hear and then making them pay for the pretty words.

Anyone who believes in astrology is a fool. Dont fall for that junk.

No single formula is used in astrology to determine planetary positions at any given time. It’s done by records and extrapolation, using a sidereal time (relative to longitude) and an ephemeris (book containing tables of positions). There are many computer programs that will do this referencing and number crunching for you. Truth is, we don’t know for certain where a planet is located at a given time, unless it is actually observed right then, but by examining its past motion, we can at least make very close projections. This becomes less accurate with the outer planets, as their orbits are more erratic, especially Pluto’s, plus we haven’t been observing them for nearly as long.

Generally speaking, planetary orbits around our sun conform to Kepler’s laws of planetary motion. These can be used to make projections, but the results are not perfect, because it is difficult to account for all the forces in effect.
