Well, I hope I don’t piss anyone off, but yeah I think they’re full of it. How can they talk to dogs when dogs don’t think like humans.

  • drb:

No, I don’t buy that they’re real for a second. I think they may be very good at reading both the body language of the dog and its owner, but that’s about it.

Edit: It might be interesting to you if you can find something on a technique called “cold reading” that is often used by human “psychics”.

  • All About the BC:

You know, I really am not fond of the idea, but the book “A Good Dog” by Jon Katz gave me an interesting perspective on the subject.

I’d suggest you read it, but I must first warn you that it is a VERY sad book. I cried, holding my dog, for a whole two hours when I had finished it.

EDIT: I’m going to try my psychic powers on your pooch:

    Oohhmmmmm…

    She is a dog.

    Oohhhmmmmmmm….

    She is a poodle…

    Oohhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm….

    Her name is Misty..

    Ooohhmhhhhalknhhmhmhhhhhhhh…..

She is currently sitting in the other room answering questions on YA under the name “Foot-Cruncher”.

I honestly believe that there are real pshchics in this world. I believe that I have met two in my life. (No not a palm reader/ Tarot slinger) BUT.. I just as solidly believe that NO true psychics are EVER going to be seen on tv or touting a late night infomercial.
From what I understand, to be psychic is more of a curse than a blessing and is something that is kept hidden from the public at all cost.
I do love to watch these quacks on tv though. I LOVE being psychic enough to guess what they ae going to say before they say it! It is almost like a gameshow for me though I do get upset when they pull at the heartstrings of the people that are gullible enough to lay their wounded hearts at their feet.

I am a very open minded person and I wont say they are phoney but I wont say they are real either. Its hard to say because I am also a physic but not for animals. Anyways you have a very interesting question and I think you might also like the group I created. We talk about our pets, share tips, support, stories, jokes, photos, everything and your question would be a very interesting one for our group. If you would like to join just to to

Hehe, everytime I hear about a pet psychic, I think of that bit by Bill Engvall, when he’s watching Animal Planet. I don’t remember just how it was said, but this is the gist of it:

This psychic was talking to some guy and she said “Oh, I can tell your dog was hit by a car.” And the guy’s like “How did you know?” ‘CAUSE HE HAS THREE LEGS! I’m in the Bahamas and I can see that!

It’s on his “Cheap Drunk: An Autobiography” CD if anyone wants to hear it. He’s got a good thing about Steve Irwin (the CD came out a few years before he died) working with snakes.

I believe that some people have psychic powers. I also believe that the people who have ads on television (Miss Cleo, for one) are phonies, only out for money. Sometimes I want to call them when I’m leaving a store and ask where I parked my truck. Just for fun. Let ‘em figure it out.

  • Dan:

I believe dogs/cats have the same thoughts and feeling as us. I’ve had too many dogs/cats for too many years to think otherwise. Communicating with pets is easy once you learn the basics of how to read their body language and face/eye language. It’s no different from peoples body/face/eye language. If your willing to learn and are patient and observant you will learn and will be rewarded for it in ways you cannot begin to imagine. But I still feel the same way about dog psychics like I do about human psychics. They are all fakers and are liars and con-artists trying to make a quick buck using peoples gullibilities.

  • LifeHappens:

It cracks me up to watch these people.
The first question they always ask the owner is “what is her/his name?”
If it was me and I was gullible enough to have one of these people evaluate my dogs my answer would be “ASK HER,SHE KNOWS HER NAME.”
Yes,I think it is a bunch of hooey.

    Hello Molly

An animal psychic works the same way as a regular psychic.

They tune into the animals energy, from their subtle energy system , aura etc.

From this link, messages etc can be passed.

Animals, like us humans are also very receptive to spiritual healing & also appear to us in spirit once they have passed over.
